Amount and Period: $900 per quarter provided upfront (not prorated) for US-based Columnists. Local currency equivalent for Columnists outside of the United States.

For example, an online class that helps you explore a hobby or adjacent expertise. Never stop learning is an operating principle of ours for a reason. Examples include:
<aside> 📈 Column Adventures should not be used on core business expenses, including courses, subscriptions, associations, or community memberships that are impactful to your day-to-day work at Column or where you represent Column in an official capacity. Instead, talk to your manager to gain buy-in and submit a regular business expense through Brex. Examples include: attending the Grace Hopper conference on behalf of our recruiting efforts, taking a Sales Impact Academy class to learn how to A/B test outreach campaigns, buying a textbook to use as a reference.
Quick thought exercise: if there's a membership association with accompanying best practices and research that introduces at least a 50% chance that we successfully make you or your vertical 10% better a year from now (not yet 30, 50, or 200% better, which is totally possible), is a couple hundred dollars a valid business expense? No question.
If it's further out on the risk curve, or less likely that there's less overtly a "Business Case", it could still be very worthwhile! That's what Column Adventures is for.
